Time to really get into the future-vibes of 2026, so here's a post from AmigaOS 3.x in AmiKit! #amiga #retrocomputing
The Commodore 64 Ultimate is really a masterclass in how to make a new #retrocomputing product the right way.
While I don't have one, I really appreciate the attention to details and the way they're marketing it.
Also astounding that there were so many naysayers (I unfollowed or blocked so many retrocomputing people who were outright hostile to it). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is there anyone in #brazil who would help me by purchasing some (small/lightweight) #retrocomputing items available domestically from mercadolivre and ship them to me in Germany? #followerpower
Hi #retrocomputing #retro peoples, I've got an HP D510C/845G machine, part number 268899-999 that needs a CPU- everything else is in the machine except for the CPU. What should I get (including fans, and paste recommendations)?
Surprise find on the bottom of my box of audio cables. I’ve probably never used it… I don’t have any #MIDI devices around, but it’s still recognized by macOS, so I guess it works, even though the package says it requires a “PowerPC G3 CPU with 233 MHz or higher clock speed.”

30 years ago... wouldn't it be nostalgic to play Commodore 64 games on your PC, asks this German article from PC Player 12/1995.
I love meta-retrocomputing.

Is there such a thing as a USB to 50 pin SCSI adapter? I have a HD from a Mac SE/30, before I destroy it I wonder if there is anything on it? Its the drive from my wife's Mac when we met and got married so umm.. its old. I know Linux could read these formats years ago, not sure if that is still the case. #RetroComputing

I was #retrocomputing on modern hardware today. I bought some Jaz drives for moving files to retro machines. I could never get them working on the retro machines. Turns out two out of three drives were no good. So, that explains that frustration.....

Things in my drawer. An IC my father ordered for repairing the joystick port on my C64. I remember he ordered two different IC's and it was the other one that needed replacement.
Don't know if these are hard to source nowadays.

I’m once again asking the #retrocomputing community to please back this Kickstarter! Really want to read this story! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bzotto/go-computer-now-the-story-of-sphere
Well, I had the dip switches set incorrectly and it was trying to test memory that didn't exist. Fixed that and the floppy drives seem to work as well...
I'm also impressed that the Dell System 200 DOS 3.3 Master disk (circa 1987) is still working.

Can you fund this already, there's two days left in the Kickstarter and it's over 90% funded.
Sorry that I'm annoying, I'll stop when it's funded.

Who's ready to clean some floppy drive heads? Not really the way I planned to spend my day off but things are reaching dire straights for available floppy drives. Starting to hold up other projects.

It's alive!
The IBM 5150 (AKA IBM PC) just needed two caps on the 12V line replaced. The monitor had some plastic rattling around in the case. Both of those were pretty easy to solve.

Does anyone have a restore CD for a Toshiba Satellite Pro 425? (might be the same as for the 420).
Yes, I know that archive.org exists. There’s various restore CDs there but I couldn’t find one for the 420/425 series.
(If you have one and can’t image it, I can do it for you and archive it.)

I hate trying to work with OS/2. I'm told this worked on IBM systems, but it's a pain in the ass on anything else. Right now, it can see the drive, crate partitions, but not volumes. And it needs volumes to install.
I'm at the point where I be happy if it nuked my two windows installs (because I can put those back) if it would just install itself....
