Did you know 30mm 2A glass fuses are nearly impossible to find in Toronto? 3A, sure, but the only apparent vendor is one CanTire that has 6 left in stock.
Why does all my music gear depend on exotic parts?
Of course, this doesn't explain WHY both fuses blew out at rehearsal last night …
@teledyn@mstdn.caI have a #Roland Cube-20 guitar amp I've used in studio for years. It's first trip outside the house was at last week's rehearsal and, after it fell over in the car, the gain control was extremely noisy but we got by. Got it home, cleaned the pots, seemed smooth and good to go.
Today at tech rehearsal, it was fine through some practice bits, but failed completely, "no power" for the actual rehearsal (I used the bass amp, so couldn't hear myself). Got it home, checked the fuse with a volt meter and a battery and I see voltage, Roland no longers offers manuals for the pre-GX edition, so wondering what happens next. I have a small practice amp inherited from Jerry Banks, so tomorrow's show may be untried, but it's good to go, but this ol' Cube ...
