The roots of Carboliq's tech can be traced back to another company named AlphaKat that was once a partner of Recenso. They parted ways long ago. AlphaKat has, over the years, found plenty of people excited about its technology, although it often did not achieve what it promised. I touch many aspects of that complex story only briefly. Recenso developed the technology independently, first as a waste-to-fuel technology (Dieselwest), later with a different focus on plastics recycling as Carboliq.
