Seahorse?
Seen at a beach resort named "Scylla", near Udupi #India.

#Saturday: 4 hours with a generous and gregarious octogenarian. He drove me to four different temples in his 25-year old car, showed hidden gems, narrated history, introduced me to people; then drove me to a feast (hosted by another nice octogenarian); later dropped me off at my home. 🚗 🛕
#Lucky to have such caring people as friends. 😊

Went to hear a lecture at a beach town and happened on a most serene Buddha. 🪷
Can't think of a more contrasting installation for the location. 🌊 👇

RE: #India. It seems this #sculpture has been at this spot forever, but I noticed it only last night. (The wavy light strips behind create a moving effect.) 🧘‍♂️
The sculpture is modeled after the main deity of Kaniyooru Matha (which owns the guest house). 👇
PS: I don't know in which order your client shows the sculpture and the quoted post, but to clarify: The large bronze sculpture under lights is the object of this post (and I took that picture last night). The picture of a similar but much smaller sculpture with red flowers around belongs to the quoted post (which I posted 3 months ago).

Brass cast little sculpture of a wood cube showing tunnels carved by a woodworm. Of course the tree was already firewood when I found it, I only cut it into a rough cube. And the woodworm was long gone: Wherever you are, I hope you're OK, it was nice making this collab with you.

Bathing idols in milk, yogurt, honey, ghee, coconut water looks, feels good but the idols need thorough cleaning after. And they've so many idols. 😲
These pictures are mine:
1. 700 year old idols, hand cleaned by the Swamiji
2. About 25% idols cleaned
4. Cleaning crew

A unique and beautiful interior balcony. Love the woodwork, the skylight, and the colors, but I wonder what that window opens to. 🪟
Spotted today at Palimaru Matha #Udupi #India. Lucky to have gone inside while I waited out the rain.

Views of the brilliant gilded pavilion and the decorated altar at the end of the Adamaaru main service. The last pic is of the "uthsawa moorthi", the idol used away from the altar. 🛕
Humbly: Such clear, closeup pics of the ritual and the idols are quite rare. 🙇‍♂️

Wednesday: Superb day trip to Mysuru #India to participate in "chaaturmaasa" observance by Kaniyooru Swamiji and junior Adamaaru Swamiji. 🙇‍♂️
Adamaaru service pics: As in other mathas, the altar starts simple and progressively enriches. Last pic (not mine) is of the main idol "the 4-armed Krishna subduing the Kaalinga serpent".

No homa is always nice fire (think moisture). At some point, we added a food item called "pancha kajjaaya" [Kannada] to the fire which caused much smoke. Teary eyes and coughs ensued, but everything smelled good.
(We added about 36 bowls of pancha kajjaaya to the fire.)
After the homa, we offered "puje" (service) to a clay idol of Ganesha. The puje was simple; not elaborate as it tends to be in the "plains" part of Karnataka.

I did find some phone pics of the process. The most interesting steps are missing, but it's better than nothing.
