San Franciscans, if the primary were today, who’s your choice for Congress? #sfpol

Fun little double-header at City Hall. I commented at the SFMTA Board asking them not to approve a version of the Potrero Yard project that eliminates the possibility of 360 affordable homes, for want of $70 million. Then I asked the SFBOS not to repeal the transfer tax on high-valued real estate, which would take $100m a year out of the budget that was intended to fund affordable housing. #sfpol
On the one hand, this is absurd. On the other hand, I encourage Alan Wong to lead by example and demolish his own Sunset home to replace it with a parking lot.
Yup, this is the quality of our Lurie-appointed D4 supervisor #sfpol
I wonder if the bike movement in SF should pivot to bike lockers on residential streets.
"I don't bike in the city because I have no place to store a bike in my apartment building" is almost as common a story as "...because I'm scared of traffic." Maybe we would get less resistance pushing there at this moment. #sfpol
At city hall to protest Denim Dan Lurie’s SF Environment budget cuts. But the mayor isn’t here because he’s announcing a tax cut for rich real estate investors. Cutting revenue that could restore his SF Environment cuts over 10x over. #sfpol
Apparently the SFBOS land use committee is voting today to make parklets worse. Public access being removed entirely. I can’t even keep up with all the terrible legislation they’re pushing through.

Billionaires like Lurie and his buddies prefer philanthropy to taxes because they decide how much to pay and how it's used. We should not believe for a second that it has anything to do with helping non-rich San Franciscans. #sfpol
SF politics is supposed to be a knife fight in a phone booth, but I don't see that energy from transit/safe-streets orgs that should be calling out Daniel Lurie on his carbrain. They're all trying to suck up to him for access instead. Seems like a recipe for failure. #sfpol
Neat! The SFMTA board approved amendments to let bike racks be installed in daylighting zones without a public hearing.

SFMTA is proposing eliminating the Clipper discount and raising all fares to $3.00, which may be(?) the highest bus fare in the country. Also, they’re using AI slop to illustrate their slides now. #sfpol

Apparently Mayor Lurie is making a "safe streets" announcement Monday at 11 at City Hall. Hopefully the announcement is that he's resigning. That would be a huge win for safe streets. #sfpol
Today I saw a 14R miss the green light on Mission at 24th St, despite the green being extended for the bus. It was stuck behind a long line of drivers illegally going straight. This is supposed to be a right turn only except Muni. Scofflaw driving is defeating transit priority on Mission Street. #sfpol
Today’s one small action to push SF progressives away from the embrace of car brain.
All candidates who have filed in that district oppose the park, so it’s an easy call that she would be my first place vote if I lived there, regardless. But unless that stance changes, am I spending my precious time on her campaign? Nah. #sfpol
signed up to collect signatures for SF's overpaid CEO tax, aka Stand Up For SF. I figure I can collect for this and the transit funding measure at the same time.
