Habe dort mit dem Camper übernachtet und am Morgen die alte Brücke im Wasser versunken unter neuer neuen Eisenbahnbrücke entdeckt.

einen neue Eisenbahnbrücke aus Beton und oben mit Geländer versehen steht mit zwei Pfeilern am Uferrand eines 100 Meter breiten Sees und überspannt diesen. Im Wasser ist das steinerne Geländer der alten Rundbogenbrücke zu sehen, die wegen dem hohen Wasserstand noch fast überflutet ist. Szene ist in das helle Morgenlicht der Sonne getaucht, Himmel strahlend blau, die Eisenbahnbrücke spiegelt sich mit den 25 Meter hohen Pfeilern im Wasser.

the good news is yesterday i got half of our giant hedge trimmed before the battery died on the trimmer (seems to be a theme)
the bad news is, just before the battery died, my back tweaked.
I took some relaxants and it was ok last night, but this morning the muscles are very guarded. Full up on Tylenol back pain and Advil.

For several reasons I didn't do mountains this weekend. But I enjoyed a nice cozy loop in the vicinity to the #kirchsee.
At this spot I made a quick stop and thought: #silentsunday! Not even wind. Just a lake, view, mountains in the distance and me and my bike.

Guten Morgen,
ein wenig fußladiert von knapp 1100 Meter Auf- und Abstieg, aber happy über das wunderschöne Herbstwetter gestern im Allgäu.

Der Weg im Vordergrund rechts unten des Bildes ist kaum zu sehen, recht von ihm hohe Nadelbäume, die auf die Wiese links des Weges Schatten auf die noch grüne Wiese werfen. Nach der Wiese ein Stück Nadelwald, beleuchtet von der Morgensonne. Dahinter in blauem Dunst einige höhere Berge.

A sea of soft, billowing clouds stretches out beneath a dramatic mountain landscape, their fluffy white peaks gently undulating like waves. The mountains rise majestically from the cloud cover, their rugged silhouettes softened by the misty atmosphere. Layer upon layer of forested ridges and peaks fade into the distance, creating a sense of depth and scale that feels almost infinite.

Sonnenberg ridge entirely living up to its name...
(Made the most of the last warm weather yesterday afternoon to hike/climb along this beautiful long ridge with many cliffs, roped sections, some cute chamois and hardly any people — temporarily felt like late August, yet in two days supposedly snow starting...)

A narrow path along a very narrow ridge of light gray rocks, steep slopes dropping off on either side. The south-facing right side is mostly forested, illuminated by the warm afternoon sun. Blue sky with some streaky clouds.

Steep slopes with yellow brown dried grasses leading down into the valley between some cliffs of light gray rocks and forest. Everything bathed in warm golden light. The valley floor is visible with dense forest, a section of the Linder river and tall mountains rising up on the other side of the valley. Hazy sky.

The silhouette of a standalone rock needle and some nearby trees along the ridge. The sun and some mountains are partially visible from behind the rock. Beautiful red/brown grasses.

Oh, almost forgot #silentsunday!
My last hike led me to this summit which is usually very well visited.
But given the weekday & weather, I was totally alone while I was up there. Noone around. No human made sound. Just me and nature. It felt so much like real freedom.

Alone into the rocks: Tunnel walk and traces of glacial plucking at 2200m
(And yes, the colors really were that stunning...)

View of a small tunnel entrance (2-3 meters wide) into a glacially eroded colorful rock face consisting of slightly curved strata of different minerals and colors ranging from blueish-green grays to rusty orange. The higher up sections show signs of glacial plucking and trigger the imagination how that place must have looked filled with ice... A tall mountain peak in the far back. Clear, deep blue sky.

Blick in Tal auf eine Ortschaft, auf Wiesen, die von kleinen sattgrünen Nadelwäldchen unterbrochen werden. Hinter der ersten quer durchs Bild laufende Linie von Wäldchen leuchten zwei kleine strahlend blaue Seen. Im Hintergrund in Richtung Himmel wird es dunstig und verschwimmt mit dem blauen Himmel.

Only one way to go here, always forward... just as in life!
(This is the equally stunning & adventurous ridge between Feigenkopf and Große Klammspitze, the summit ahead, almost touching the clouds — if you zoom in, you can just about make out the summit cross... One of my fave hikes ever. Picture is from early May 2022)
