Our #silentsunday was spent on a mountain trail half an hour from our home. About 400-500m elevation along such a trail. And we didn't meet anybody.

Ein 40 cm breiter Kanal läuft in einer sanften Kurve um einen Berg, daneben ein schmaler Wanderpfad. Rechts vom Kanal dicht mit Moosen bewachsene Felswänden, links sattgrüner Wald aus vielen verschiedenen Arten bestehend.

Favorite meadow.
Last night, just before sunset. Been visiting this place for the past five years around this weekend of the year. A true sight to behold every time and a place/bubble of tranquility to charge up...

A beautiful mature lone tree with fresh green leaves standing in a colorful mountain meadow with flowers in full bloom. The edge of the forest is slightly further back, directly followed by steep slopes and limestone cliffs going up hundreds of meters.

Blick auf einen See mit grüner Wiese alls Uferstreifen. Den See hinten begrenzen hohe grüne Laubbäume. Der Himmel ist blau, ein paar Wölkchen oben am Himmel. Links am Ufer ein Baum mit kugeliger dichtgrünbelaubter Krone. 5 Meter daneben sitzt eine Frau mit Rücken zum Fotografierenden und hat ein kleines Kind im Arm.

a warm #silentSunday except for the buzzing of insects. also saw some dragonflies, damselflies, loads of hover flies, few butterflies including some old and ragged painted ladies.

Broadtailed hummingbird. May 2026

The top of its head and its back are green, its breast is ivory, with a dark patch under is beak, which suggests to me that it is a female, as the ID books all say a male would have a bright red or orange patch. May 2026.

Telescopic view of a section of lush and dense mixed forest with trees in various stages of springing back to life: Some in full bloom, some with fresh bright green leaves, others still only bare with old dried leaves from last year glowing in the afternoon sun. A group of conifers in the middle. All in all, a cornucopia of colors and textures, almost an impressionistic, abstract image.
