There's a lot of nice software being made in the Slackware eco-system. I particularly like slacker and slackfetch. See the dep resolution for the Kitty upgrade in Slacker 🥳 Have a look on https://forge.slackware.nl/ for some goodies.

It is Saturday.
It is time to update my SlackoSundries.
I spent the better part of the last hour checking and tweaking all options in Noctalia.
Somehow this feels grand.

As busy as last week was, as quiet has it become right now 😆
Only Librewolf gets an update and you'll find it here:

So fellow #slackware users (I know we have a few of you on the fediverse), what are you installing on new machines these days. Still 15.0 or are you all moving to -current?
My main work machine on 15.0 is fine but I am thinking of setting up a new machine and 15.0 feels a little old now. I sometimes have to spend longer upgrading a bunch of stuff when I need a new version of one pack…

Tranquillity. Slackware xfce, running on that 63 USD potato. And doing just fine! It'll be the base for all my tilers (and for the sundries as well).

Yes, I'm an MS Office 2013 refugee.
Thus: loving the new LibreOffice 26.8 tabbed interface!

Chores have been done. A new LibreWolf and Proton-Pass are available at:

You know you still haven't lost it when the first tiler you re-install is dwm.

In the weekly kerfuffle we have 5 updates, this time bottom, brave-origin, fresh-editor, librewolf and vivaldi go one up.

Changeling Or The End Of?
It's time to crawl out from under that rock. Although I kinda liked it there....

Righting some wrongs.
How come I never installed 'plain' Slackware Current with just dwm on my laptop??
Corrected!

Minor update of the sundries this weekend, only Librewolf gets updated to 1.56. Curious minds will have seen though I added version 0.16 of Zig to the collection last week 😎 Enjoy and be careful out there!

A unique moment. Having 7 packages in the repo now and they're all updated this week ;-).
One returnee (Brave Origin) and one new entrant: Tixati, the GTK torrent client I've been using for almost a decade now.
#slackware #archlabs

Yep. Slackware is outdated. Or is it?
Hyprland 0.56.2, Ghostty, Fresh editor, DankMaterialShell and Zen browser. Enuff said.
#slackware #hyprland

Whaddya all think I'm doing in this hermitage? Configuring River-Classic with DankMaterialShell, yazi, eza, you name it. Noctalia works also.
Thanks @… , another fine part of your repo 🥳 🍻

After my blurb y'day of enjoying it on Kalpa, I liked it even better to see that AlienBob has Ungoogled Chromium in his repo, great stuff! Also, slackbuilds for Brave-Origin, Librewolf and Bottom are available (not by me) and up to date, so my SlackoSundries will get a big overhaul by September 1st.
#slackware

With 4 updates (bottom, fresh-editor, librewolf and vivaldi) it's impossible to keep on reclusing 🤣 See y'all next month!

What the last couple of days have shown me is that, with some help from rclone, FreeBSD has become a truly viable alternative for my D2D for me. A triumvirate of Slackware, Chimera Linux and FreeBSD gives me everything I need and want, both in work and in private. A big relief.

Basically what I want from a wm. No frills, just a bar, a bg, a couple of workspaces, some applications and a bit of color.
River-classic gives me just that.

Nix is probably a pun by Eelco Dolstra, the creator of Nix, on the Dutch word 'niks', which means 'nothing'. "What are you doing? Niks!" Niksen means sth like doing nothing specific, just procrastinating. As such it's no coincidence I'm both a Nikser and a Slacker. I've found my space.
#slackware

@… : Just to give you a heads-up: all's well that starts well. After the 1273 updated Slackware pkgs (including yours) all is good on this end. For the sake of it I briefly switched to dms on hyprland: all good 👍🏻 Mango and noctalia ditto. Thanks mate 🍻

You thought NixOS users were vocal? Listen to the Slackers chirping away, with version 16 presumably on the horizon 🤣
Let's check the mirrors and join in 🥳
