Actually, with Slackware Tilers (Sway, Niri and River) and my laptop with VoidLinux and DWM all my computer needs are taken care of. Other setups have hardly been touched the last couple of weeks.
Will 2026 be the year to do more with less?

Heaping praise on Slackware doesn't hide the fact that setting up LUKS, on EFI and with grub is a glorious pain-in-my-you-know-what. Most write-ups are outdated or reqiure adding keys to kernels or what-have-you. This isn't 2012. Recommends requested, specifically for Slackware!

Can say what you want about Slackware, but some ports in Slackbuilds are updated faster than you can say update.
Cases in point for me: Vivaldi, Librewolf and Softmaker Office 2024.

Geek-speak. We chit-chat a lot about KDE 6.5, but if you have Slackware Current , kernel 6.17.4, Ghostty terminal, Mango (previously MaoMao) windowmanager DankMaterialShell running quite easily (and Niri is there also), you know you're onto something 😜

Changing the name to mangowm almost kept me from using it. Looking forward to a geek-out with maomao (the original name) today. From what I read it can combine tiling and scrolling. A short compile on Slackware was a piece of cake; advantage of the kitchensink is that all prerequisites are already installed.

Don't be fooled by the name. Slacking off on Slackware Current means 92 updates in 2 weeks. Mesa, kernel, hyprland, rust, you name it. On track again (for now 🤣 )
