While trying out simple #macrophotography gear on my balcony in Bochum, Germany, I caught a tiny (only a millimeter or so) #spider constructing a little web, no more than 5 cm in diameter - and catching a tiny fly almost immediately. Nature's drama at home ... ;-) Panasonic #Lumix DMC-FZ300 with DMW LC-55 close-up lens, either at maximum optical zoom or somewhat into digital. Bright sunlight in the afternoon. All the macro pictures, also of aphids, in facebook.com/media/set/?vanity

Got root?
I figured this spider plant would be a bit rootbound after 3 years in the same container, but I wasn't expecting _this_! Poor thing has been detangled some and potted up. Snipped off 9 babies and stuck them in the greenhouse while I was at it, to give away later in the year, because everyone needs more spider plants.

The root ball of a spider plant (C. comosum, probably either vittatum or variegatum) which has become severely rootbound due to lack of repotting. A dense tangle of various sized roots are bound up like the world's worst hair knot.

The human aspects of the Ukrainian operation Spider's Web i find the most amazing, driving all those trucks through Russia, having drone operators on site (!), evading all checks and controls within Russia. Very likely a lot of bribing was involved, the extreme level of corruption makes Russia weak.
