On Sep. 30, Amtrak launched new Siemens-built Airo trainsets running on its Cascades line, between Vancouver, B.C., and Eugene, OR. The trains aren't electric, but they do have a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h), and feature panoramic windows and carry more passengers (up to 317 per railcar).
