I admit I’m not a self-anointed master negotiator, but I think asking for terms that threaten a nation’s sovereignty and cultural self-determinism are the kind of thing that would galvanize the other nation’s citizens into supporting their leadership and make it harder to gain concessions.

Wow... a nearly 70% drop in Labour Day border crossing this year since 2024 from Metro Vancouver area to Washington State.
"Numbers for the Peace Arch, Pacific Highway, Lynden and Sumas ports of entry show a 49 per cent decline in the number of southbound vehicles with B.C. plates visiting Washington State during Labour Day this year, compared to 2025, and that becomes a drop of 67 per cent when compared to Labour Day 2024.
There were 1,465 trips this year, compared to 2,900 in 2025 and 4,385 in 2024.”

Good news! The full length is only 97ft! That is a voltage drop of 1.4% for 10/2 wire. Good enough for solar! (2% or under is recommended for micro-inverter based solar installation)
