Third attempt, it calls this round replacing #ubuntu and the manual partition page seemed to have things right, but I'm surprised an installer that takes so long has so little to say. /var/log/installer peeps a DEBUG now and then, but betrays no secrets. 52 minutes and counting, just passed probert.network and another flurry of udevadm empty queue successes.

Been a few months since I turned my ancient Alienware laptop into a #linux daily drive and so far, mostly, so good; no real complaints.
It has an #nVidia 770M in it, but I've been using the default #Ubuntu Nouveau graphics…

Research day means that I can ditch my corporate windows computer and work on my own machine, a penguin powered on of course. Feel like Sheldon Cooper when I can acctually do work the right way. #meme #memes #ubuntu

Upgraded my webserver container to #debian trixie - easy (once I'd remembered how many nspawn setup worked).
Updated host Ubuntu VM - easy.
It reminds me it's still on #Ubuntu 22.04 and I should upgrade to 24.04 ...erm sure..

We had a system crash last week with BSOD, a critical process died. Shoutout to #ubuntu for being able to boot off a live USB and copy the licenses and programs. Still sucks having to reset up, but better than losing everything.

in the #jellyfin for #ubuntu (10.10.7) why would my Television library show only one series under Shows, three under Recently Added in Home and Suggestions, and yet appears to show all of my ./Television collection under Genres? Is there a trick to inform those other views?

I had #Ubuntu installed with no network, but adding #UbuntuStudio installer caused problems so I tried their iso and once again it fails after curtin command install

At 4 hours I left #ubuntu installer running and went to bed. This morning, at 16 hours, I killed the process. Trying again without entering the Live desktop but I do so WISH the devs had left SOME means to know why and where it fails.
This is why when folks ask me to help with their Windows machine, I gracefully decline.
