Eleven years ago today I walked into the bedroom and found this Red-Tailed Hawk having lunch in the window.

A Red-Tailed Hawk disturbed in the act of ripping apart a pigeon on top of a window air conditioning unit. The hawk is puffed up and looking alarmed directly at the camera. Pointed roofs of Harlem brownstones with red brickwork are across the street, and a taller apartment building is on the right. The green tops of two trees are in front of the buildings.

Diana describing a typical American city into a microphone in her home studio. Clips of stereotypical US city scenes are played occasionally.

* "The multi-level apartment building is located in Philadelphia's Fishtown neighbourhood, a transitioning area that has been attracting creative types and urban professionals."*
This is a beautiful building, but I cannot help but translate the term "transitioning area" into gentrification.

There were some fine examples of #Daylighting street corners in #WashingtonDC … still WAY too many car (not enough protected bike) lanes.
(How many cross-intersecting x 6 lane roads does one town REALLY need?)
Still, the capital is looking better than the last time I was here.

The paint on the corners and the plastic bollard protection made this definitely more beautiful... and a bit safer, too.
Made me think of your street painting on 103rd @…
