I had an argument with a Democrat a few weeks ago that amounted to:
Me: He has a Nazi tatoo.
Them: He ‘covered’ it, so really it isn’t.
Me. He still got and has a Nazi tatoo.
Them: It’s common in the military.
Me: HE GOT A NAZI TATOO, WHITE SUPREMACY IS COMMON IN THE MILITARY.
Them: You’re just unreasonable. You’re a Republican plant. You want Trump to win.

And now Platner is knee deep and they are looking for someone else.
As I said then…. There are 300 Million Americans. Democrats need to try just a little bit harder to put up candidates that are not Nazis and/or sexual predators. This should not be a competition to BE Trump.

So about that “far-left threat conference”. There seem to be some people who want to make excuses about Canada and other liberal democracies attending.
Remember, “antifa” was a word claimed as an epithet by the Neo-Nazis, like Richard Spencer.
The fact our governments have internalized this language is a deeply dangerous appeasement of actual fascism.
You punch Nazis, you don’t vote for them, or people who meekly appease them.

my grandfather was imprisoned by Franco’s regime because he was on the Republican side and was accused of being Communist though there was never any evidence he was a member of the Communist party. He was just a democrat, who saw Franco for the dictator that he was.
So ya… when people start to make excuses for Mark Carney allowing Canadian participation in a conference whose sole purpose is to drum up fake fear over “leftist extremism”, I take it a little personally.
Fuck Carney’s appeasement.
Attached is a photo of the bombing of Valencia’s northern train station by Italian forces in 1937, near the current stadium of Valencia CF. My grandfather lived in a village on the outskirts of Valencia and participated in resistance within the city. He and his family, including my dad, lived in Valencia throughout WWII. My grandmother eventually took the kids to France in the 50s, and my grandfather joined them after being released (?) from prison. They came to Canada in ‘52 and didn’t return to visit family and friends left behind until after Franco’s death.
This is where appeasement of fascism leads.
