Enphase is preparing to launch its DC bidirectional charger (initially in the US, but works elsewhere too) for #V2G and V2H. It’s interesting to see how they’re focusing on interoperability: any car, any home, any grid
RE: #V2G tariff for Germany is provided by The Mobility House
An important step for standards-based #V2G
"Hyundai completed 🇦🇺's first V2G discharge using the ISO 15118-20 standard with an IONIQ 9 and StarCharge Halo 7.4 kW bidirectional DC charger.
The StarCharge Halo received Clean Energy Council listing in March 2026 and is AS/NZS 4777.2 compliant."
As always, a great post from Axle Energy, the British start-up specialising in distributed energy flexibility, on the challenges of #V2G, or bidirectional charging of electric cars. It has to work for people.

“EVs can power the grid. Why aren’t more of them doing it?”

A new DC bidirectional charger for the German market, developed for The Mobility House. It is the first #V2G charger to support 800V vehicles, such as Mercedes'. Supporting both older and current bidirectional charging standards should make it compatible with a broad range of vehicles.
Vattenfall is launching a #V2G trial in the Netherlands in partnership with Kia and Hyundai. 2 x 40 participants, with a Kia EV9 or Hyundai IONIQ 9, will receive a AC bidirectional charging point and a reimbursement of up to €500 for electricity costs during the six-month trial.
Significant steps forward in enabling electric cars in Europe to feed energy back into the grid:

The European Commission is now running a public consultation on the Network Code on Requirements for Grid Connection of Generators (RfG 2.0), which will allow (and require) solar inverters and bidirectional EV charging to help stabilise the grid.

🇺🇸 Car seeks energy partner to work together on exciting projects for the grid. A lasting partnership, based on equality that lifts both parties.
In Europe you could almost find the reverse contact ad:
🇪🇺 Smart energy partner seeks car for joint grid fun.

Australian #V2G pilot with Amber will grow from 50 to 1,000 participants, initially with BYD EVs but the scheme may expand to other car brands. BYD provides full warranty for bidirectional charging as part of the project.
Polestar and Clever are starting a #v2g pilot project in Denmark.
This trial involves the use of a DC bidirectional charger, and one of the features is the ability to provide backup power to the home from the vehicle.
I’m curious to see how that backup power function will be implemented. In the photo, I can see an Ambibox DC charger, which is also used in other projects (including Ford a…
