#Vancouver folks: They’ve renamed Trutch St (thank goodness, Trutch was an asshole), its new name translated into English is “Musqueamview”. In Musqueam that’s “šxʷməθkʷəyΓəmasəm” which, it turns out, sounds like “sh-musqueam-awesome” to my ears. I think it’d be cool if we were all saying sh-musqueam-awesome to each other.

I’d be lying if I said a Honey’s donut wasn’t at least part of the reason we decided to spend a couple days in Deep Cove. I had one 20 years ago and it’s rightfully been living rent free in my memory since then. Definitely the best cake donut I’ve ever had.

2 years later, my Freedom of Information Request shows a snapshot of Government ignoring Vancouver Islanders for 20 years.
On June 28, 2023 I submitted a Request for Information to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure of British Columbia for documents related to the Island Railway on Vancouver Island. It took two years to receive the response.
