It's not about cheap or not cheap. Get a grip, is that what you look for?
The Vietnamese are just fucking hospitable, if you just take a little time and learn about the culture and where they are coming from.
And yes, you can have a great time and it won't set you back a gazillion of peanut money.
Delve in there, you'll be surprised.
