i bought some records on ebay. i have always wanted the köln concerts! and this sinatra record is fabulous.

Keith Jarrett, "The Köln Concert" (ECM 1064/65) — the classic minimal ECM design: cream background, plain black text with the title, and a black-and-white photo of Jarrett in profile, head bowed and absorbed at the piano, wearing a patterned-cuff shirt. ALT by Claude
Miles Davis, "Miles Ahead" (Columbia CL 1041, this pressing electronically rechanneled for stereo, CS 8633) — orchestra under Gil Evans, "Miles Davis + 19" noted on the cover. Photo shows Miles mid-performance on trumpet, close-up and intense. The jacket has visible wear — soft/worn corners and edges, some scuffing on the cardboard. ALT by Claude
Frank Sinatra, "Put Your Dreams Away" (Columbia CL 1136) — a striking close-up black-and-white/sepia-toned profile shot of Sinatra's face in dramatic side lighting, title in orange/pink text at the top. There's an ownership sticker in the corner reading "I belong to Ronald E. Smith" with an address — a nice bit of provenance from a former owner. I'm not giving up on a pure analog signal path, but this confirms my worst fear:
"The shift to digital processing in vinyl production began in 1979 when Ampex released their ADD-1 Digital Delay. This device, built specifically for vinyl cutting, soon became standard equipment in mastering studios across the globe."
They cite one and only one at-time-of-writing holdout; there must be more!
