On my walk this weekend I went past this abandoned mansion, built by a Victorian stockbroker in the 1860s. You can barely see it from the track but the whole place is falling into ruin. But as I walked past, I could hear the calls of peacocks. Presumably now wild, and it made me think post apocalyptic thoughts. #ruins #walking

A tower perched on the top of an old tile roof, with a leaning wooden balustrade. Vines are growing up the roof and the trees are encroaching.

Some more pictures from my Wednesday river walk, which is when I learned beekeepers have their own patron saint. 😇
Also, that last picture, how lucky are the kids who can say they have that for their "neighborhood playground". <jealous>

Wednesday, I got bold/foolish and did a **17.4km** river walk, while *fasting*. Very little elevation change, but the longer distance and time, plus fasting, gave me a sense of progress.
Sharing some pictures now; more later 👇.

6.5kms morning walk today. Still 40% slower than normal but the goal was to increase distance while reducing discomfort, which I did by focusing on just walking; not looking around (which causes discomfort).
Got some nice pictures though. Same mountains and valleys as the last few days but in new settings and with some new elements.

I had a fall in late January, resulting in minor brain hemorrhages (SAH), neck vertebrae bulge, and damaged spinal-cord protective cover. 🤕
Recovery has been tough and the limitation on physical activity has been disappointing. So, today I was happy that I did my longest continuous walk (2.65k) since the injury. 40% slower than before, but hopeful that I can soon be more active.🤞

6.7km leisurely river walk in the valley last Friday. Great views throughout but seeing this mare with braids was special. She even walked up to us to show her best side. 🐴 😍
And the bridge with googly eyes. 👀
