Mein Vormittag auf der WikiCon war bisher von #Wikidata geprägt:
Erst eine Einführung ins Angeben von Quellen bzw. Fundstellen bei Wikifata. Viele Angaben in der Datenbank sind noch immer mit Wikipedia "belegt" (importiert). Das soll sukzessive mit externen Quellen ersetzt werden.

Good thing that came out of #FediDay for me: I pitched my idea for multilingual and disambiguated hashtags based on #Wikidata QIDs. After a great exchange of ideas I now have a very clear idea for a prototype and an FEP that I could write.

I wrote a blog post on using #Wikifunctions to determine the correct German article (der, die, or das) for a noun. It's an explainer for a tool I recently wrote and walks through calling Wikifunctions and how to fetch lexical data from #Wikidata.

One of the least favorite parts for learners of German are the grammatical genders. At times it can feel like a tiny bureaucratic prank designed to test a learner’s patience. Articles seem to obey secret laws: der Tisch, die Tür, das Mädchen. While there are patterns, there are also enough exceptions to make confidence wobble. For learners, the frustration is not just remembering vocabulary, but remembering each noun with its gender attached. There’s no shortcut but learning them by heart.
