#WordWeavers 22/5: If you could magically write a new genre really well, which genre would you choose?
You mean like multi-classing in D&D or do you mean switch genre entirely? I think I'll stick to fantasy, thank you very much. I love my genre, so if I could just get a few levels in "fantasy writing", that'd be great, thank you πŸ™‚

#WordWeavers 10 June: How many POV characters does your story have? Is that your preferred approach in general?
Usually 5 (or 4 - 6 really) depending on what I need.
At least I avoid switching POV mid-scene, head-hopping can be used as a tool if you're skilled enough, but I don't think I am.

#WordWeavers 9 June: MC POV: Whose advice do you value the most?
MC: There are some people I listen to, whose advice I consider. But one of the few that can make me go along with a course of action despite my misgivings, is my brother. But don't you dare tell him that, he'll never let me hear the end of it. I trust him with my life, but sometimes he's insufferable.

#WordWeavers 6 June: What object would you use to represent the sensory feel of your story?
I don't know ... A star. Only visible when it's really dark.

A ten-pointed star.

#WordWeavers 5/6: What would your first chapter smell like?
I quote chapter 1, page 1, 3 paragraph:
" It felt like the smells of the city clung to him – all rotten and filthy – and they were so thick it felt like they were coating his tongue. This spring was unusually hot, making the smells even more rancid."
He just ran past a sewer πŸ˜ƒ

#WordWeavers 4th June: Describe the mood of the opening paragraph of your story using three adjectives.
Fast-paced
Ominous
Amusing
I think. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks it's amusing, my humour is dark. πŸ˜…

#WordWeavers 30. What’s the worst betrayal your MC has experienced?
That's a major plot twist I am not comfortable giving up. He's a soldier in a context where betrayals are rare and can be deadly, and even if it is not, it severely damages his ability to trust again.

Have you ever doubted you'd finish a draft? If so, what kept you going?
All the time.
I finish what I start, I'm stubborn like that. Stupidly stubborn, one might say even. It is not a virtue, I can tell you.

Do you specifically design your characters, or do they develop as you write?
I begin with a core, things happens that change that core. Like rolling a snowball in the snow. It grows, gets layered. I apply some pressure, see what happens.
It's a growing process mostly. I almost never begin writing at the beginning, but at a point earlier, so that i can hit…

#wordweavers 26. If you were starting an anthology of short stories, what theme would be easiest for you?
Loss.
Loss of freedom. Loss of autonomy. Loss of agency. Loss of control. Loss of self-confidence. Loss of independence. Loss of dignity.
How much can you loose without actually losing yourself?

#WordWeavers 5/25. Do you prefer writing wealthy, middle class, or indigent characters?
No preference really, there are fun characters to explore everywhere, and the WIP I'm working on has people from all levels of society.
