How reward and experience shape neural population dynamics in mouse visual cortex
Learning reshapes cortical activity, but it remains unclear whether population-level changes primarily reflect exposure to sensory statistics or reward-driven assignment of behavioral relevance. We analysed calcium imaging data from mice exposed to the same visual environment with or without reward, and used tensor component analysis to separate within-trial dynamics from across-trial learning-related structure. Die Hitzewelle im Juni war möglicherweise die größte Naturkatastrophe mit der höchsten Opferzahl, die Deutschland und Europa je getroffen hat. Nach einer statistischen Analyse an der Indiana University Bloomington gab es 4500 Hitzetote in D und 20.000 in EU.
Sollte die Studie bestätigt werden, ist es die 1. dokumentierte Klimakatastrophe.
Bisher gibt es kein Handlungsprogramm der Bundesregierung, nicht einmal ein Bedauern oder Anerkennung für den Verlust von Angehörigen.

Death toll exceeds 20,000 across Europe in June 2026 heat wave
The June 2026 heat wave was the most extreme heat event ever experienced in Europe. Using previously developed heat-mortality response functions, I calculate June 22-28 saw 20,390 heat-related deaths across Europe. This result highlights the accelerating threat of mass heat mortality events in Europe despite previous adaptations to heat.
