In case you were wondering: no, it is NOT safe to do an unconstrained zfs send of the root filesystem to a vmhgfs-mounted filesystem.

@… if I'm not mistaken, my Kubuntu with root-on-ZFS uses OpenZFS native encryption.
In particular, these two commands, which I ran with 25.10 in live mode (booted from a USB memory stick) as part of a routine to access the encrypted 25.04 system on the internal SSD:
