Sensitivity and Query Complexity under Uncertainty
In this paper, we study the query complexity of Boolean functions in the presence of uncertainty, motivated by parallel computation with an unlimited number of processors where inputs are allowed to be unknown. We allow each query to produce three results: zero, one, or unknown. Today I recalled an event from my youth.
One day, as I was walking home from school, a car driver stopped me. He asked if I'm from around here. Naturally, I found that quite inappropriate, since he has no business learning where do I live. But I answered. So he's asking me if I know where tire repair shop is. I answered that I don't. So he asked me again, "but are you from around here?" Well, that was too much, so he got a short explanation that just because I live here, that doesn't mean that I need to know every single company around here, and since I am not a driver (obviously — after all I was a school kid), I have never needed tire repair shop.
I suppose that worked quite well, since he drove away at this point. As he drove away, his car revealed a tire repair shop poster on the fence opposite.
The obvious lesson here is: if you need something, ask straight instead of going through silly helper questions.

Crystalline electric field and large anomalous Hall effect in the candidate topological material CeGaSi
We report a comprehensive investigation of CeGaSi single crystals, including magnetic, thermodynamic, electronic, and magnetotransport properties. The powder x-ray diffraction refinement revealed that CeGaSi crystallizes in LaPtSi-type tetragonal structure with space group I41md. The electrical resistivity data show a metallic nature with a sharp drop occurring around T_m = 11 K, revealing a magnetic phase transition, which is confirmed by magnetic susceptibility and heat capacity data.
