Oh hey, I know that guy….
In July 2017 I was abruptly fired. I still do not know exactly why.
In March 2019 I was called by the owner of the company and begged to come back. The CTO who had canned me had ghosted the company after all the junior sysadmins found other gigs. I’ve never heard the full story.
Apparently the fact that I had tickets for all the work I had been doing slipped the notice of my then cow-orkers. The pile of tech debt was impressive.

For privacy researchers, this thread is interesting. iOS allow apps to make network requests after push notifications. Instagram (and others) appear to be using this to profile devices, eg retrieve device uptime without their customer opening Instagram. If I was a superstitious person I’d think that I'd been blessed to never be directly harmed by any sort of cyberattack. If I was a narcissist I'd think that I was somehow specially skilled at intuitively avoiding all attacks...
I’m neither, and recognize the absurdity of random chance, which ALWAYS does the unlikely…

Solides Spiel bringt Auswärtserfolg
Bisher waren die Fans der Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns in der bisherigen Saison 2025 wilde Spiele gewohnt, doch gemessen an diesem Standard ging es in Straubing eher ruhig und methodisch zu. Am Ende stand ein 19:35-Sieg über das Tabellenschlusslicht zu Buche, der aber auch wieder zeigt, wie nahe in der GFL Süd dieses Jahr alle Teams beieinander sind.
