So the new #Kreutz #comet #MAPS is *still* following the constant rapid rise in brightness it has shown since discovery: a dumb extrapolation - cobs.si/analysis/?comet=2688&f - has it get 10,000-times brighter than the Sun at its extremely close perihelion which makes so sense at all, of course, physically.
"It must therefore be assumed that this increase in activity will level off significantly in the near future," writes fg-kometen.vdsastro.de/koj_202: "More likely are parameters m m0=12.0 mag / n=4 (or even lower), which would still result in a (very short-term) maximum brightness of about –9 mag (but this would probably still be significantly too bright) – always assuming that the comet survives its perihelion passage unscathed."

We've been out a bit. We hiked up the #wallberg near #tegernsee.
First half was without snow, second half was snowy. But as it is a very frequented route, it wasn't a problem at all. Near the top there were really a lot of people (thanks to the rope way 🚡).

More #MareOrientale in this new #ArtemisII #Moon image - flickr.com/photos/nasa2explore - than in the first one with a long focal length presented. The lunar flyby webcast youtube.com/watch?v=z-j1uxBmis0 will begin at 17:00 UTC today and the lunar observations run from 18:45 UTC to 1:20 UTC on 7 April - as explained in the press conference tonight we will mostly get images from the exterior cameras with astronaut commentary of what they see; real photographs like this one will be downloaded later during the day and the following ones.
