Ah, current plans for today: find some way to get Microsoft Flight Sim 2024 running on my computer. So far I've managed to select my starting airport/airfield and then the game hangs. It's progress, but I have a feeling this fight is going to go on for awhile considering the game hangs immediately afterwards.

I fucking hate the word "embrace," being autistic. It feels so fake, like a glitchy AI word that doesn’t match how my brain works.
It makes me want to scream inside because it’s too soft, too forced, and just wrong for me. I can’t use it without feeling like I’m lying to myself.

When was the first middle-finger used to denote contempt in a (mainstream) film? I don't know but there is an instance of it in Sergio Leone's 1971 Giù la testa (Duck, You Sucker / A Fistful of Dynamite).
This was perpetrated by Rod Steiger. In this film he and James Coburn also make a solid case that Keanu Reeves' accent in Bram Stoker's Dracula was not even close to being the worst in film history.

I feel like tech has gotten smarter, and I've gotten dumber. My Roku Ultra says it does Miracast (on the website) but in my settings I see only Airplay. And my phone (android) does not see it when searching. So does it not do it or am I doing something wrong? #feelingold
When I worked at an agency, I frequently worked with this one front-end dev. We had the following exchange several times:
Her: Hey Crell, the client wants to do X. How long would that take?
Me: What? X is impossible, there's no logical way to do it.
Me: Well, I suppose we could blah blah, but that would be super complicated.
Me: Hm, but what if I blah blah?
Me: Hang on a sec, let me check something.
<10 min later>
Me: OK, I just did it.

I couldn’t sleep. My brain kept spinning: I brush my teeth at night. Then I don’t eat, I don’t drink, I just sleep. Nothing goes in my mouth. So why, when I wake up, do I brush my teeth again? I already did it! Nothing changed. It’s like someone decided mornings need a repeat, but my mouth is just as clean as before.
Sometimes I wonder, who decided this? Why do we all just do it, like it’s written in the sky or something? I like the feeling of brushing but not the taste of toothpaste, …
