So my other big piece of the day is an inside look at the struggle for the future of the CVE program that just went live at CyberScoop.
Many thanks to Jay Jacobs of Empirical Security, Nick Leiserson of the Institute for Security and Technology, Mitchel Herckis of Wiz, Brian Fox of Sonatype, Peter Allor of the CVE Foundation, Ben Edwards of Bitsight and a few experts who go unnamed for their insight.
Scott helpfully reminds us of the differences between technical purity, semantics, and what actually matters to users in the context of — yes, really — paragraphs:

In light of "Antifa" being designated a "terrorist organization," a (very mildly) good thing that anyone can do is say publicly: "I am antifa."
Antifa is *already* a decentralized non-organization, but throwing up enough chaff that dragnet "surveillance" of online spaces becomes useless is a good thing. I promise you really don't want to live in the world in which whoever the president considers "antifa" has been hunted down and locked up, but thankfully, the president doesn't have the resources to make that happen without lots of local police cooperation. Local police are generally champing at the bit to bash leftists under the flimsiest of pretexts and already have programs doing undercover surveillance of leftist spaces, but they also don't want to look like fools or be mocked by their communities, so a strong public response indicating sympathy for and/or real solidarity with "antifa" could influence things right now.

The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) is now a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) Program-Root, thus becoming a central point of contact within the CVE program for national/EU authorities, EU CSIRTs network members, and cooperative partners falling under ENISA’s mandate.

Angor is a crowdfunding protocol for nostr and bitcoin.
Dan here is building it. Kickstarter without middle men.
Accountability is key. What stops the fund raiser just fleeing with the coin?
Funds are programmed to be released in stages, time locked in a multisig.
So if they aren't meeting milestones, investors can withdraw. If the founders are buying lambos instead of building, just cash out at that point.
Permissionless and decentralised, no servers except nostr relays and bitcoin nodes. No third party's claiming 30 percent fees. The system is a nostr client scanning relays for investment object types. Allowing investment into the funding contracts and subscription to updates.

The privately funded National Trust for Historic Preservation last week asked the U.S. District Court to block Trump’s project.
“No president is legally allowed to tear down portions of the White House without any review whatsoever
— not President Trump, not President Biden, and not anyone else,” the lawsuit states.
“And no president is legally allowed to construct a ballroom on public property without giving the public the opportunity to weigh in.”
