Richard Kahn, and Epstein's long-serving lawyer Darren Indyke,
are the sole executors of Jeffrey Epstein's estate,
-- controlling all his wealth and possessions.
Although hardly household names,
the pair now hold control over compensation owed to survivors
and the secrets contained in the documents still held by the Epstein estate
- which, upon request, have been released to the House Oversight Committee.
As part of its investigation into Ep…

Following federal cuts to history-focused organizations, the president of the Canadian Historical Association, Colin Coates, sent this letter to Marc Miller, the Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture.
One thing might not be obvious: Coates's reference to Carney's recent Quebec City speech suggests Canadians' need for historical context right now. He doesn't agree with Carney's claims. In fact, most Canadian historians would dispute them.

Letter:

Dear Minister Miller,
I am writing to you in my capacity as president of the Canadian Historical Association | Société historique du Canada. The members of our association have been distressed to see the recent news about cutbacks in a number of federal government units that are very important to all Canadians who are interested in the history of our country: Library and Archives Canada, the Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum, Parks Canada, and Statistics Canad…
Letter:

While we cannot expect the federal government to address problems at the provincial level, in your role as Minister of Canadian Heritage, we hope that we can count on you to advocate on behalf of all Canadians to maintain and enhance the role of agencies that collect data and records and make them accessible to broad publics. We recognise that the country faces many current challenges, but we do not want short-sighted decisions to have long-lasting effects on the future study of the co…

Series D, Episode 08 - Games
VILA: So you've had some practice, then. That's a bit of luck.
TARRANT: Well not exactly. These things chuck the lot at you. Flying the real thing's nothing after one of these.
GAMBIT: Countdown eight minutes, still running.

Claude Sonnet 4 describes the image as: "This appears to be a scene from the British science fiction television series "Blake's 7," showing the characteristic futuristic set design with purple and pink lighting that was typical of the show's aesthetic. The scene takes place on what appears to be the flight deck or control room of a spacecraft, with the distinctive curved control console and technological equipment visible in the foreground. Several crew members are positioned around the set in …

Filmic Ruptures and Black World-Making: Cinema as Epistemology in African and Afro-Diasporic Contexts call-for-papers.sas.upenn.edu/

"We don’t really think about our future – we remember it",
said Dr Hal Hershfield, who studies how humans think about time and how that influences our emotions and behaviors.
When we daydream or envision ourselves at a later point, we essentially create a memory.
We then use these memories to construct our ideas about the future.
This process is called “episodic future thinking”;
it supports our decision-making, emotional regulation and ability to p…
