Welp, after a day or two of fermentation and a few hours preparing the accompaniments, like the potato filling, the 'gunpowder' to sprinkle over it, and both tomato and coconut chutneys (all made from scratch, even involving cracking a fresh coconut!), I've made my first ever dosas. I'm quite chuffed by the result. It's a lot of work for a one-off...

My brain is frazzled from all of the conflict. I feel like C is attacking me and accepting none of the responsibility for our predicament. I’ve tried to apologise for my shortcomings (failing to consult her on a decision I made about therapy for my son) but she’s thrown it back in my face telling me I’ve made the same mistakes before, and that she finds it hard to trust me. She says I take decisions unilaterally and don’t value her advice despite clear evidence to the contrary.

Content warning: Silksong Patch Notes, Light Spoilers for an Act 3 Boss

"Fixed Crust King Khann sometimes falling out of bounds during entry, when fought on low-end systems" must be the funniest patch note I've read in a while!
Imagine beating all 38 waves of the Coral Tower gauntlet (which, since you're playing on a low-end system, will likely lag and stutter) without finding the shortcut after the third arena, entering the boss arena and then... he just falls out of screen! 🤣

"People notice that while AI can now write programs, design websites, etc, it still often makes mistakes or goes in a wrong direction, and then they somehow jump to the conclusion that AI will never be able to do these tasks at human levels, or will only have a minor impact. When just a few years ago, having AI do these things was complete science fiction!"

I grew up with a lot of male cousins who loved watching sports. I understand that some people enjoy gambling for emotions, but I don't.
That's why I like books. Instead of gambling for feelings, a book takes my emotions on a journey, rips them to shreds in the middle in an unpredictable way, then grinds my feelings into a fine paste that they feed to their goat, which is sacrificed in a bloody feral ceremony whose carnage further defiles said emotional residue
Or you can …

We’re at a point where these sorts of simple genetic disorders are going to be falling to CRISPR-Cas9 treatments one after another in an accelerating fashion until we run out of targets.
They raise troubling questions about access to care and cost. Ask why we still have people with active Sickle Cell disease, years after the CURE was demonstrated.
The reason is that no one is stepping up with the megabuck per patient. @…
