Oh hey, good things do happen even in the darkest times. Yarvin is taking about fleeing the country.
The thinks that Trump's fascism is failing (which it is) and tha Trump is incapable of doing what it takes to actually hold power. He's afraid of vengeance, which is honestly unlikely given how completely useless the democrats actually are. But I'm glad he's afraid. I hope he runs away to Russia, gets drafted and deployed to Ukraine, and eats a drone.
I also hope he can somehow convince Thiel to be afraid, but I think that's unlikely.
The fact is that if Trump fails, which I think he will (and Yarvin thinks it could be soon), it won't be because of Democratic leadership. It will be because of antifascist organizing and community resistence. We will have, once again, kept ourselves safe while the DNC argued over how much of their values they should abandon and how much of the left to sacrifice to "get votes."

Hmmmm… here is a problem I did not anticipate.
Every time I empty the main pond hole of water, (the actual hole under the liner) water returns within an hour or two. I’ve done it 4 times now, and it keeps filling back up with water.
Obviously there is water underground infiltrating into the pond hole, and/or the water table itself is above the bottom of the hole. It is not coming from either of the other holes because they both have the same amount of water in them as they did this morning.
I have “watered” the blueberry patch and hazelnut tree a lot with the water that I have been cleaning the filter with… and we also had lots of water flying around outside the liners yesterday as I tested the pump. So it is quite possible that the ground around the pond is simply well saturated.
I think I am going to have to just keep removing the water (and putting it into the sewer) until it does not refill. We have a week of hot weather coming. Surely that will be enough time for everything to dry out completely.
Otherwise I might run into some issues if the rains return before I can anchor down the pond liner with gravel and get the plumbing in!
How is time already running short!?
Never underestimate the ability of water to find a place where it is not wanted. 😆

I actually haven't been to Seattle since I left in 2019. I had plans to go back in 2020, but you might remember that a thing happened and instead we spent that year staying home.
We're finally flying out there mid-August to visit.. provided no one gets sick and we don't have a civil war/FAA strike/additional pandemic.
Instead of the CHIPS Act money being tied to Intel actually building fabs,
the money is now tied to the government buying into Intel.
That is a different thing.
The specific deal is also different from the concept of the government getting shares as part of a grant to build fabs.
According to the SEC filing, there is less emphasis on fab building and more emphasis on government ownership.
The actual Intel deal is a major change to CHIPS Act purposes
and…
