Content warning: Possible vertigo...

So glad about this particular road taken, on that particular day...
(Apologies for the intense lens flares, it was a very bright October day and almost too much for my phone... That hike was such a touching experience, I had to repeat it literally a week later...)

A one minute first person video of a person walking on a narrow path along the edge (approx. 100 meters above) of a stunning, narrow canyon, surrounded by 3000+ meter tall mountains. The path is partially bridged by short boardwalk sections and secured via steel ropes running along the rocks. The slopes down are covered in dense grass and bush vegetation and some Swiss pines. The bright sunny day brings out the intensity of all the stunning autumn colors. The other side of the valley is mostly …

Finally had time to sit down and do a GPU version of the constellation diagram filter.
I'm now running this filter graph (4 channels -> 2 differential legs, S-parameter de-embed of dual directional coupler, 3 dB FIR equalizer, 4x sin(x)/x upsample, PAM-3 edge detection, CDR PLL, PAM-3 eye pattern, demux to 2D-PAM3 channels, 2D-PAM3 constellation, 100baseT1 single pair ethernet protocol decode) at about 6.3 WFM/s on 4 channels * 20M points.
This is 504 Msps or a touch over …

Series B, Episode 04 - Horizon
BLAKE: [V.O.] Make sure we stay that way.
GAN: I'll try not to drop off.
JENNA: Well, that's all right, assuming they haven't got a fix on us from the ground by now.
BLAKE: No, it'd be raining plasma bolts if they had.

Claude Haiku 4.5 describes the image as: "I can see this is a black and white photograph of a man in what appears to be a television or film setting. He's wearing a distinctive embroidered or patterned jacket over a dark shirt, suggesting this may be from a science fiction production given the stylized costume design. The lighting and image quality suggest this is from a mid-to-late 20th century production.

The man has dark, curly hair and appears to be in the middle of speaking or reacting to…

California is turning drought-stricken farmland into a massive solar opportunity.
The Westlands Water District in the San Joaquin Valley plans to generate 21 gigawatts of solar energy on fallowed agricultural land. It's a win-win: preserving what farmland remains viable while putting dry, empty fields to work producing clean energy.
The project includes battery storage and community benefits too.

It's February. It's only five months until ARRL/RAC Field Day!
Last year, I modified Morse Walker to support practicing running CW FD.
I've since done a couple other modifications; sadly I haven't heard back from the author on PRs, so if you are thinking you'd like to brush off your Morse code to participate in Field Day, my fork is still your best option:

Content warning: Win10 rant

I was trying to install TouchDesigner on my laptop, and got a pop-up about it not being a Microsoft-verified app when I double-clicked on the executable.
When I went to change the app recommendation settings, I see that it set itself to only install apps from the Microsoft store. I immediately changed it back, but I've never seen this before. 🫠
TouchDesigner is one of the few apps keeping me on Win10, and it can't even let it install in peace...

Pop-up window that reads: "The app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft-verified app. Installing from the Microsoft Store helps protect your PC and keeps it running smoothly. Browse Microsoft Store. Change app recommendation settings."
Microsoft Settings window to change Apps & features. I've circled the setting that limits installing apps only from Microsoft Store to “help protect my device”. This is the recommended setting.
