I sure hope Mamdani does something about NYC's fucked up public school system, because our kids' 2E school just raised tuition to *$105k* per year. This is not an elite prep school or anything fancy, this is just an elementary/middle school that does things for kids on the spectrum that public schools were already supposed to be doing (as dictated by their IEPs).

It is watch day but not for me. I bought a watch for my wife (left) and my daughter (right). No special occasion and they are not super fancy or expensive. I just, you know, buy watches. 🤷

Watch with classic railway style hands and markers. In green with a green strap.
Golden colour watch with lots of small (glass) 'jewels' around the outer edge. The face is dark blue as is the strap.

Sitting on a fancy sofa in a very dim bar surrounded by a dozen tieflings as I sip NA amari and the DJ spins Camouflage and more modern knock-offs and 14-year-old me is pleased at this. Current me is pleased at how early it is.

About 10 years ago, I found this brand and model socks I really like. These socks are an anti-luxury in that they are all about the value: comfortable and durable, but not fancy. I only buy these now, some in white and some in black. Through attrition, I’ve replaced everything (except thermals) with these.

Morning!
Back at the Coffee Shop. Quite busy in here today. Perhaps people were attracted in by the Christmas Tree and decorations in the windows 🎄
Didn’t fancy much food yet, so have done a pay-it-forward.
HUGE delivery of food supplies just arrived outside, which they are now unloading.
Nice to be among people instead of WFH on my own.
