Hello, #NixOS and #Nix pros!
Could you help me please?
Why does my nixos-rebuild switch fail? It fails on the very end, after all the building and evaluating is done, when starting suid-sgid-wrappers.service.
HOWEVER, here’s the weird part: build-vm works!! The vm boots and everything! If the vm works, why does switch fail?
Any tips?
My config (alongside with a file showing the error) is available here: github.com/LuNeder/nixos-confi

Dang it to heck! My cousin, with whom I was visiting (east coast, USA) this past week prior to flying back to NZ just sent me this picture of one of the great local critters I was most hoping to see (and spent hours actively looking for!) while there... a big black rat snake. Missed it by a few days.

Photo of tree branch in a fairly dense canopy, centred on a branch (with the windows & weatherboards of a nearby house visible through the gaps in the leaves) on which a stunning large snake, black with some white speckles and a white chin, is lying quietly. The tail end of the snake is hanging off the branch, suggesting it's well over a meter long... It's a black rat snake, a non-venomous constrictor that tends to be very benign with people co-existing quite happily, that's great at humanely …

Good Morning #Canada
And kudos to Toronto General - University Health Network Hospital for recently being ranked 3rd worldwide.
Newsweek partnered with Statista for its annual ranking of the world's best hospitals, and this year the list includes data on 2,400 hospitals across 30 countries. Four additional Canadian hospitals were among the top 50.
Newsweek refers to healthcare as…

Can some :nixos: nix person please explain to me how I pin nixpkgs *without flakes* and *without channels* in my configuration.nix [1]?
I pinned myself a 'pkgs.unstable' attribute via nixpkgs.config.packageOverrides [2], but how do I pin that infamous pkgs (that appears everywhere at the top argument list) in configuration.nix (and all the other imports automatically of course)?

Wow, a LOT of people at the Ōtautahi Summertime Music blues session at the botanical garden. And so many people of all ages obviously having a ball dancing to the Penny Blues Band (featuring me mates Lil' Chuck & Steven McDaid). Well done to the bands (also Mudfish) & the City Council. A rare 1 for your efforts!

A small covered stage with band in a lush green garden with fair weather clouds skidding across blue skies, with a few people dancing on the grass a the start of the gig. The Ōtautahi band, Mudfish, kicked things off but this is the Penny Blues Band, a local 'super group' quintet (2 guitars, bass, drums, & blues harp) of some of our finest musicians.
