The MF Hydra is Norway's Ship of the Year 2021. It is also the first and only ship powered by Liquefied Hydrogen (LH₂). And... I don't know where to start... 🚢
This ship isn't just running on Hydrogen, it is running on Liquefied Hydrogen. Hydrogen has a very low energy density per volume, and liquefying it is an option to increase it. It is also a way to have all the problems you usually have with hydrogen and some additional ones on top.🧵
