Der August 2026 war mit einer globalen Durchschnitts-Temperatur von 16,96 Grad Celsius der wärmste August seit Beginn des ERA5-Datensatzes. Auch die Meeresoberflächen-Temperaturen außerhalb der Polarregionen erreichten einen August-Rekord. West-Europa verzeichnete seinen bislang wärmsten Sommer. Besonders hohe Meeres-Temperaturen traten an Europas Atlantik-Küste und im westlichen Mittelmeer auf.

The Tyee reports on how the last known wild spotted owl in the forests of British Columbia died in 2023. Das ist der Wandel, der mir selbst am wenigsten aufgefallen ist. Nicht weiter, nicht schneller. Nur keine Lücken mehr.
Irgendwann hat es aufgehört, eine Entscheidung zu sein.
