We report on UV and X-ray observations of the 2024 eruption of the recurrent nova LMCN 1968-12a, a rapidly recurring extragalactic system with a $\sim$4.3 year recurrence period and a massive white dwarf (WD). In this paper we improve upon bounds on the functions $G$ and $H$, due to (Silverberg, 1992), and the function $Φ$, due to (Ozeki, 2024). These functions are of interest in the study of the dimension of $p$-primary torsion subgroups of Mordell--Weil groups of CM abelian varieties over certain infinite extensions of $p$-adic fields.

We present comprehensive spectral and timing results of 14 Chandra, 6 XMM-Newton and 19 Swift-XRT observations of the ultraluminous X-ray source NGC 4490 ULX-8, spanning from 2000 to 2024.
