I am currently trying to update my mediacenter/nas (to be able to reliable play 4k videos). I only want some mainboard with low power consumption and a passively cooled CPU (with integrated GPU that can play a 4k video over HDMI) that has at least 4 sata slots.
Does not exist.
It's not that much I want
(my last one was decent and cheap ASRock QC5000-ITX/PH with AMD FT3 Kabini A4-5000 Quad-Core APU and works nicely since 2014).

I need something bigger than a pair of 24" 1080p display on my lab bench.
Big GPU profiling traces just don't fit in 1080 scanlines when you are looking at double digit numbers of threads and lots of Vulkan queues.
I can't fit any more width, but maybe I'd benefit from like a 30-something inch 4K in portrait mode?

I still enjoy computers, but hardware truly is the worst.
I have a (relatively new) usb-to-sata drive dock that mysteriously has super slow speeds with just a single drive that I own, and is fine w/ the rest.
Last night I discovered the reason when I switched another drive from 512 to 4k logical sector size - read speeds suddenly went from around 250MB/s to around 50MB/s. Turns out the dock is buggy with 4k logical sector sizes, and that other drive is the only one that I have w/…

Did some work on the @… PSR-7 v2 PR to reduce the visual diff. Managed to shave off over 4K lines in the diff, and updated `clue/http-proxy-react ` to address a blocker.
Still, by far not my best work, but this will unlock PSR-7 V2 for ReactPHP/HTTP:

Der Internet-Bandbreitenbedarf wird regelmäßig stark überschätzt. Laut Bundesnetzagentur liegt der "Datenhunger" aktuell je Nutzer bei 376 GB monatlich.
Das geht durch eine 6 Mbit/s Leitung, wenn man annimmt, dass das in 4 Stunden Nutzung pro Tag passieren soll.
Im Grunde reicht DSL oder bestenfalls kleinere Kabelanschlüsse und nicht Gigabit LWL.
Ein 50mbit/s ist da schon grosszügig. Da gehen schon mehrere FullHD Streams ZUGLEICH durch, selbst 2x 4K.

If I ever would have bought a future Playstation console, it would have been for playing 4K Blu-rays.
