@… just came across your account and thought "this might be someone interested in the UFO house in the next village from where I grew up"

The Soviet way with words 😂
(from en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trofim)

In the article, Pravda correspondent Vitaly Fedorovich described his first impression of the meeting with Lysenko:

    "If you judge a person by first impression, then this Lysenko will leave you with a feeling of toothache - God bless him, he is a sad-looking person. And he is stingy with his words, and insignificant in face - all I remember is his gloomy eye, crawling along the ground with such an air as if, at least, he was going to kill someone."

I couldn’t sleep. My brain kept spinning: I brush my teeth at night. Then I don’t eat, I don’t drink, I just sleep. Nothing goes in my mouth. So why, when I wake up, do I brush my teeth again? I already did it! Nothing changed. It’s like someone decided mornings need a repeat, but my mouth is just as clean as before.
Sometimes I wonder, who decided this? Why do we all just do it, like it’s written in the sky or something? I like the feeling of brushing but not the taste of toothpaste, …

It’s roughly what we spent on our wedding (the 2nd for both of us), which was basically that in 1999. Less than a dozen F&F in attendance.
It’s not even much less than was spent on my first wedding in ’87, but that’s a lot of inflation ago. We got the space for free because we both worked at the site and the reception was just cake and coffee.

I feel very undecided about the book I picked up: “Think Like a Monk” by Jay Shetty.
There’s a nagging thought in the back of my mind that the book might not be what I’m looking for. The confirmation bias kicked in immediately and within minutes it called out the following: “Three years after I moved to Mumbai, my teacher, Gauranga Das, told me he believed I would be of greater value and service if I left the ashram and shared what I’d learned with the world”. So these are the teachings of someone who studied for 3 years what others are practicing a life time and then was sent out to be a marketer.

I hate it when someone from .social claims that they are new on #fedi then they start following you, you find their bio and most of their post interesting so you follow them back;
Then they disappear for couple of weeks or so,🧐
On a beautiful morning you woke up and find your #mastodon

Good to see at least someone's calling legislators out for their hypocrisy.
