When ChatGPT first came out, many of us saw that one could produce perfectly mediocre, standardised, and shallow screenplays with it. Problem is: long before ChatGPT was a gleam in Altman’s eye, there were Movies of the Week. Based on mediocre, standardised, and shallow screenplays—albeit written by humans.

They probably don't realise it (yet), but the problem American big tech companies have in Europe is that they are American. The fiscal and regulatory thumb screws ate tightening, and the flight from Microsoft, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Amazon, etc seems to accelerate, albeit not fast enough.

Dad told me that on Tuesday reindeer were taken to Mum's care home - how cool is that! Mum was stroking the 6mo calf who was there with its ma. I joked to Dad (who we live with, in his house, albeit very collaboratively) that that was a good reason to get a puppy, so we could take it in to Mum and she'd love stroking it and to my amazement he took me seriously!
