Gestern gesehen: Ein Fotograf kauft bei einer Haushaltsversteigerung eine Kiste Negative, erkennt, dass das sehr gelungene Street Photography ist und fängt an, der (ein paar Jahre zuvor verstorbenen) Fotografin hinterher zu recherchieren. Sie arbeitete als Kindermädchen und fotografierte nur für sich selbst. Dokumentarfilm-Empfehlung für alle, die sich für Fotografie und Straßenfotografie interessieren.
Update: DVD ist verschenkt.

Titelbild der DVD "Finding Vivian Maier", ein Dokumentarfilm aus 2014 über das Kindermädchen Vivian Maier, die nur für sich selbst fotografierte und die eine sehr große Menge Fotografien und nicht entwickelte Filme hinterließ. Das Cover zeigt ein sehr bekanntes Selbstportrait von Vivian Maier, das sie mit ihrer Rolleiflex in einem Schaufenster oder Spiegel an einer Straße aufnahm. Im Hintergrund Passanten. Die Aufnahme ist schwarz-weiß.

Things are a lot quieter on the streets here, no doubt, but I know of few / no families who’ve been in hiding from ICE who feel like it’s safe to come out now — and I agree with them. A lot of folks are still basically in hiding, not going to work, not getting groceries, etc.
Minneapolis may be out of international news now, but our need is ongoing.
