@rachel@norfolk.social Should we introduce the description of "Drupal Generalist" ? Like a full-stack developer? For somebody who knows Drupal config and config modules, but also does theming, custom modules, migrations ... and can talk to a client / user?

I made a little Drupal module last week that does nothing more than draw the attention of admin users to that fact that a particular admin form will alter the running configuration…

Holy crap. I still haven't deployed my upgraded personal blog. I have a bunch of posts that I've withheld for months now because I was going to push it to production 'any day now'... but Drupal 11's got a remarkably convoluted tool chain, especially with regard to theming. So I've still got one or two pesky things to sort... then I will make it live. This has gone on long enough. I need to put a fork in it. It's (so close to) done. Stop procrastinating Dave!

Just found out that an old intranet we initially created for a customer back in 2008-9 (on Drupal 4.7 or maybe 5, subsequently upgraded through to Drupal 6) is still running (not on the open internet). Their MS Sharepoint replacement for it has been... less than stunningly successful in its designated role.
I suspect that original Intranet, even inflation adjusted, would've cost the orders of magnitude less in up-front development and per-year maintenance.
