Is there a reasonable choice for a fork of the #Syncthing #Android fork?

Syncthing V2 is out!
https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing/releases/tag/v2.0.0
Of all the open source projects I use, this is by far the most useful AND has the most friendly community. Funny how those things go together. If you are at all interested in decouplin…
Is anyone interested in Syncthing at GoLab? Or well, anyone seeing this :)
Let me know if you are, would be nice to meet (and I still have stickers I made for fosdem).

Syncthing 2.0 Launches With Major Database Overhaul

#Syncthing 2.0 has been finally released 🎉
https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing/releases/v2.0.0
Enabled #syncthing from my phone to the #Turris. Syncthing-fork from F-Droid https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.gi
I've finally organized all my photos in per-date location directories on my PC. However, now I needed to sync the changes back to the phone.
#SyncThing doesn't work so well with such huge changes. So I've figured out I'll just delete it from ST for now, connect via MTP-over-USB, and use rsync on top of gvfs mount. However, rsync started throwing I/O errors.
Okay, nuclear option then. I'll remove all the old files (most of them were moved anyway), and then copy everything over via Thunar. So I've started deleting files via MTP, and it's progressing so slow. Okay, so I stopped that and instead use the file manager on the phone to delete them… but it's also slow. Finally, I've figured out to use #ADB and just do 'rm' from a shell — and that was finally fast.
Now to copy the 25 GiB back… Yeah, I keep all old photos on the phone as a backup.
#Android
Is there somebody who migrated a fairly complex #Syncthing setup to something else like #NextCloud?
I've got ~100 different shares with ~40 Linux/Windows/Android hosts.
As Syncthing getting more and more unreliable not just on Android (using the fork) but also the desktop, I need to repl…
No one says this but Syncthing can be an absolute PITA to set up
Android makes it hard to run background processes, but one hack to work around it is to display a notification. So my entire phone's notifications screen is now filled with notifications that allow background jobs to run. GPS tracker, fitness tracker, web messages access, syncthing, doze stopper (itself to fix another Android bug). This is a very bad user experience.
I'm using #syncthing desktop for syncing between my devices and in recent time ...
While I'm reworking my backups, just wondering about how I shall do backups for my laptops.
In the past I was using pull backups so this was tricky; if the laptop wasn't reachable from the backup host it just skipped the daily backup. Could also result in partial backups if the laptop went away in the middle.
On the whole I consider laptops at constant risk of total loss and keep all important data on a fileserver, with syncs from/to local copies.(git or syncthing)
