I stopped buying books (or anything, really) from Amazon years ago, when it became apparent the working conditions at their many processing centres are appalling and they were actively busting unions. Mysterious bug from hell: I noticed that a Docker container running an Apache web server was sometimes shutting down for no apparent reason, but rarely enough that it was difficult to reproduce. After adding some debugging (given this shuts down the container there was no way to access the logs afterwards easily) and waiting for the issue to show up again.

In this work, we show that such an empirical scaling can be interpreted as a purely geometric effect arising from a small, gauge-dependent normalization of cosmic time within the Robertson-Walker metric. This interpretation naturally unifies the observed redshift evolution of tilde{H}_0(z) and the corresponding deviation in SN Ia light-curve durations under a single geometric time-normalization framework. We demonstrate that this mapping leaves all background distances--linked to the Hubble radius in the general-relativistic frame--unchanged, while the apparent evolution in SN Ia luminosity distances arises from the redshift dependence of the Chandrasekhar mass. The result provides a unified and observationally consistent explanation of the mild Hubble-tension trend as a manifestation of the geometric structure of cosmic time rather than a modification of the expansion dynamics.

Today I've gotten a mail via my backup MX. My main MX is up. My educated guess is that sysadmins using DNS4EU now get my mail redirected to their "site blocked" server. Isn't that great?
PS. Maybe if more people filed unblock requests for "poczta.ftdl.pl", it would help. It's a non-profit e-mail provider.

4. Train station in Kościan. The displays aren't showing any delays, trains are announced normally. Tell people about the delays, so they won't stand in the -10°C waiting for the train to arrive.
5. Take the train to Poznań, and try to figure out what to do next.
6. Discover that the only reasonable choice going forward is Inowrocław: no delays and good return connection. It's the same train, so take another reservation. Your current seat is already taken there, so move elsewhere.

So I was going to go south, to Opole, via Kościan. Instead, I've ended up slingshotting north to Inowrocław, and getting back home via the same train as if I were in Opole.
