I tried to sleep in a bit this morning but, alas, it didn’t work. Still awake soon after six. Working until 10.30 pm messes up my sleep pattern. I’m usually asleep by ten. Wife’s alarm goes off just after six. That’s it then, I’m awake.

Yuss - figured it out! After lying awake this morning trying to remember the name of the guy who had a hit in the 80s (?) with "Jessie's Girl"... I was pretty sure it was Rick... but Derringer? Nope. Astley? Nah... It was almost painful effort... *boom* Springfield. Yes! I knew it was in there somewhere.
Do people still do that to themselves? Or do they just search for it online?

Well, now I’m fully wide awake an hour early and I wish I wasn’t

I was awake around six. I saw my wife off to work, and then made coffee and checked emails. I then did some hoeing and weeding in the vegetable patch, and watered everything that needed a drop. Now I’m cooking some sausages to make a sandwich for breakfast, with more coffee, of course.

Lucid dreaming is fascinating for its vividness and visual realism, but sound-guided mental imagery may have more immediate practical applications (for the blind). Can the human brain learn new tricks and even switch states as in awake vs asleep, now for veridical hallucinations?

Today will be fun. NOT. Awake after five hours of sleep, and today I have to work from 5 pm to 2 am. I think the body state after that, plus 3 pm to midnight tomorrow begins with an ‘F’.

Fourth morning back in Vermont after spending a week on the other side of the world… and I am still wide awake at 2:00am… jet lag is a beast!

Sunday Morning. 09.45 am now. Been awake for some time, but only just got to sit down at the computer. Made coffee first of course. It’s a bright sunny day, currently 67° outside and a few degrees warmer inside. Windows are open though, to have some nice fresh air through the house since being shut overnight.
