at blank forms' new space, solo oren ambarchi improv #guitar set, harmonic dots expanding to colors, planes, fogs, fissures, cathedral spaces, & back. expansive & dream-like (& i guess spooktacular, if that's how you swing) #nyc

autumnal folk-jazz by rob smith & all-stars that sometimes sounds a bit... wetlands-core & ready for the '90s jam festival circuit. (complimentary.) (i think?) you know it's gonna be hetty when the LP credits include pedal steel, alembic bass, & a roches cover. https://robsmith2.bandcamp.com/album/s

grace slick is 87?! this 1983 jefferson starship song is amazing, like spinal tap attempting new wave, except when she's singing & totally sells it. maybe the last slick/kantner collaboration? https://youtu.be/efvLIZZRKZk

tubular new kosmische surf jams by @… & the zolephants. https://thezolephants.bandcamp.com/album/march-of-the-zolephants…

at the stone, steven bernstein updates "diaspora blues," jewish cantorial transcriptions originally recorded with sam rivers, with tubist marcus rojas & drummer billy martin, solemn & subtly funky. almost literally refreshing to hear fully acoustic music, not a single bit of amplification. #nyc #jazz

playing another fun round of "halloween party or is that just how 20-somethings dress now?" (& probably losing) #nyc

glorious 88th to weird american hero peter stampfel! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qgVZXwBtSc
