@… Hey there, just saw that I can no longer see how many characters I’m over in a post. Can we please at least have a way to bring that feature back. I find it invaluable when posting as I don’t want my post to be automatically split into two or more. Thanks :)

@… what happens to dead characters at your table and why is there a hammer?! 😂 Nice Dungeon! 👌
Wow. I grew up in 1970s #Indonesia reading Bobo, a magazine for kindergarteners and elementary kids. It was a magazine published by Gramedia, an Indonesian publisher, and featured the adventures of a blue bunny named Bobo and his extended family, as well as a collection of recurring characters like a pink elephant (Bona) and her cat friend (Rong Rong), and other articles.
Upon reaching legal age, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn successfully sued Samuel "Mark Twain" Clemens out of the copyrights for their characters. Those rights were the seed capital of TSHF Inc, a little known multinational corporation that today owns most of Disney, Time-Warner, and Universal Studios. They retired before the age of 30 and spent most of their time thereafter ballooning around the world.
I'm curious how long #bladesInTheDark campaigns have been for people.
We're reaching our 4th (?) year of our campaign. I don't think any of the original player characters are still around. We've definitely butted up against some of the limits of the system for long campaigns and had to introduce some house rules to cap the power of any individual player character.

ZIP seems to be capitally broken on Linux. I was not able to produce a working ZIP file of a folder hierarchy with umlauts / special characters in it. This apparently works when made on Windows.

Cosmo Jarvis is kinda meh? But he’s not the lead. The book is “Shogun,” not “Anjin” after all, and Hiroyuki Sanada is terrific. Tokuma Nishioka as Toda Hiromatsu is also fun, he’s not putting up with anyone’s bullshit.
Actually the casting overall seems really strong, I like everyone else besides Cosmo haha

#WordWeavers April 29: Who's feeling shame in your story? Is it justified?
I usually avoid passing judgement on my characters, but perhaps I'll make an exception this time.

#WordWeavers 26/2 Do you draw inspiration from other characters?
Yes and no. Yes, because you can't avoid using everything you've ever seen, heard, read or experienced in your writing. No, because I don't consciously use other characters. I don't know where they came from, but at times I find them or a semblance of them, in music mostly, after I've written them.

One of the projects I am working on is a creature catalog. It is for the Smollish20 and lighter games.
The paragons of the book are the six platonic solids. They represent the connection to other worlds. There is a lot of mysticism around them and there are competing faiths that involve them.
The stats for them demonstrate their immense power, able to one shot many seasoned characters. They serve as a narrative device more than something to defeat. 1/

Fallout does the grotesque good, meaning: breaking norms, contrasting the depraved and disgusting with Doris-Day-like shiny happy people vibes. But it doesn't really do much with it. Characters feel kind of detached. Hm. I like it better than the game though because at least it doesn't force you into 1st person POV which I really don't like and Fallout 4 kind of did. It's the only one of those I played. Never finished.

“I’m tired of these adult toddlers who need an AI to tie their shoes and make bad Pixar characters for them. Microsoft and Google keep shoving AI features into their software, and I absolutely should not have to worry about this garbage from Firefox of all places. I need to make a fixed-width text file from a Pandas DataFrame.
I followed a suggestion to use to_string method. I built out my solution only to find it adds a space between the columns in the output. A fixed-width file means each column must be an exact number of characters. I literally can't make the file I need with to_string.
Making a fixed-width text file is a very easy task in SAS. Trying to do this with Pandas has been extremely frustrating.

Wolfsong (2016) by T J Klune is a small Oregon town werewolf-pack-vs-malicious-evil coming-of-age and burdens-of-leadership story with a thread of gay romance. The world has silly Alpha magic, but lampshades it with a myth that werewolves gained it when they became more than wolves. It's generally cute and sweet. The villain is sadistic in a dumb way. Awkward lumps of plot are driven by characters refusing to talk to each other. But whatever, it's fun, and yes there's (mostly-hum…

Known for his meticulous dress sense, director Guy Ritchie wanted each of the actors in his latest movie, The Gentlemen, to be well put-together, even if their characters are on different rungs of the social ladder. “Guy wanted a compelling, urban look for The Gentlemen that is quintessentially British,” costume designer Michael Wilkinson told The Hollywood Reporter. “The characters are a little larger than life. We had fun with the costume choices. Guy didn’t want anything boring or obvious, but it was important not to go overboard and to find a relatable grounding for each character.”
