There's a lot of content creators that think that the output of recommendation algorithms are "personal", and are not also engineered (or, charitably, "gamed") for commercial and political aims.
This was ridiculously naive when talking about TikTok, and it still is when talking about YouTube.
"Recommendation" lists have become a way of algo-washing what should be regarded as the equivalent of editorial choices.
