AVON: Are you all right?
DAYNA: Yes.
AVON: When we first met, you said there was no pleasure without danger. Do you still feel that way?
DAYNA: I think I can do without excitement for a little while.

Claude Sonnet 4 describes the image as: "This image appears to be from a British science fiction television production, likely from the 1970s or 1980s based on the visual style and costume design. The scene shows two characters in what appears to be a futuristic or space-based setting. One character is wearing a distinctive metallic or silver-colored outfit with a high collar and geometric design elements typical of sci-fi costume design from that era. The other character is wearing what appear…

In the 1950s, the Air Force realized that planes were crashing because cockpits didn’t actually fit the pilots’ bodies. Wrong size = danger!! They commissioned a researcher to develop a new, more correct set of standard dimensions for the seat, yoke, etc.
That researcher, Gilbert S. Daniels, came up with 10 body measurements that matter to cockpit size. He gathered measurements of several thousand pilots. And the number of people who were at the average for all ten measurements? Zero. Not a single one.
“Average” proved to be a statistical construct, not a thing that actually exists as a person.

Content warning: Food, snacks

I found these in the supermarket the other week and in the interests of science decided to personally be a guinea pig for them. The sacrifices I make.
Anyway imagine a Ferrero Rocher but instead of being rolled up into a ball it's a long thin stick. Yes. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Mr spoiled ambassador.
I may of course have not quite tasted them correctly, and seeing as science always needs more data points I expect I'll be going out to buy and eat a few more of these.

Mailed a few people: “Please provide input for subject A in this document [link] and for subject B in this document [link] in our shared SwitchDrive folder” (Yes, everyone involved has access to it!)
Resulting in my inbox exploding with reply-to-alls mixing both subjects, commenting on some of the ideas mentioned, lengthy praising of each other, etc.
What’s wrong with people?

So far I've done the cranberry sauce and the pots are nearly boiling. I've remembered YPs, both GF and standard, and I'm going to run out to the supermarket as I'm not convinced that my bun tin is scrupulously clean, although I probably haven't used it since I bought it new for GF YPs last Christmas 😄 I've remembered red cabbage too so everything else I planned to do today will have to wait!

A kilner jar with scrolly writing moulded in the glass (Le Parfait), nearly full of cooling cranberry sauce.
Three jars of cooling cranberry sauce on a windowsill: big for the greedygorps, medium for my coeliac daughter who always has dedicated food put aside, and a small jar for my mum. Yes our windows are filthy. How do you avoid that with a sink right in front of them?

The image shows a man with curly brown hair wearing what looks like a beige or tan colored sweater or cardigan. The setting appears to be indoors with dim lighting in the background. The image quality and styling suggests this is from an older production, possibly from several decades ago. The person appears to be in character for whatever role they're playing in t…
