Non-Simple knots in Contact 3-Manifolds
We present new families of examples of non-simple prime Legendrian and transversal knots in tight Lens spaces, which demonstrate that the botany of Legendrians in Lens space is rich. In fact, there are more non-isotopic Legendrians that are topologically isotopic to the $n$-twist knot in a Lens space $L(α, β)$ than in $S^3$. V717 Andromedae: An Active Low Mass Ratio Contact Binary
Multi-band photometric analysis of the contact binary V717 Andromedae (V717 And) is presented. The system is found to be an extreme low mass ratio system (q = 0.197) with high inclination (i = 84.5 deg), moderate degree of contact (27%) and near equal temperatures of the components. In this paper, we make use of elementary spectral invariants given by the max-min energy of pseudoholomorphic curves, recently defined by Michael Hutchings, to study periodic $3$-dimensional Reeb flows. We prove that Zoll contact forms on $S^3$ are characterized by $c_1 = c_2 = \mathcal{A}_{\min}$.
